About Me

Hey,

My name is Jessica Rose, but please – call me Jess! I’m a U.K. Mama, I was born in England (Liverpool to be precise) but I was brought up a country bumpkin in the Highlands of beautiful Scotland. When I got married I moved over to the North-East of Scotland to a small town right on the coast and that’s where I’ve been for the past 3 years.
My Husband’s name is Jake and we are parents to one gorgeous little girl, she’s 18 months and her name is Zoey-Jane. She gets all sorts of nicknames but most often and the one that seems to be sticking is Zo-Bo!
Zoey was born with a serious health condition called Craniosynostosis. This has meant we have overcome a lot of challenges and learned a lot along the way. Our experience inspired me to create this blog as a place where I can share my experience as a cranio-mother and a breastfeeding mother. We really struggled a lot with breastfeeding in the first 6 months and it’s probably my biggest and proudest achievement in life that we are still going strong a year and a half later with no end in sight!
In the days when we really battled and struggled through our breastfeeding journey I found there was very little support and I felt very alone at times. This is a big reason why I am setting up this space, I want to be there for mothers experiencing similar challenges to what we faced, especially mother’s located near me as proper support is severely lacking where I live. Supporting others mother’s through their journey has become a true passion of mine, so I am excited to start this platform where I strive to encourage, support and motivate mothers in their breastfeeding journeys, helping them to overcome challenges and find a journey that is right for them no matter where in the world they are! Breastfeeding is hard and complex and it can bring very unique difficulties which can be very scary, exhausting and overwhelming. I’m here to work through these difficulties with you, to reassure you and empower you as the Mama you are made to be!
I firmly believe that mother’s need mother’s! Whether that be your own mother, a mother-like figure or other mother’s going through what you’re going through, experiencing the same, exhaustion, emotions and hardships as you, someone to reach out to on your bad days, to talk to someone who understands and can offer the solidarity you need you get you through that tough day or week!
I am starting the process of becoming a qualified breastfeeding support worker but this will take time juggling it around my everyday life with Zoey-Jane. I am here to share my personal experience and perspective as a mother, to raise awareness for breastfeeding mothers and to also raise awareness about Craniosynostosis. These will be my two most strongly featured subjects but I will be touching on all aspects of motherhood and gentle parenting.
The first and number one piece of advice I give to any new mother is the reason behind the name – Trust your Bs. Trust your baby, trust your body and trust your boobs! If you follow that simple guideline it can shape how you respond to many situations and difficulties that may arise on your mothering journey. I have a separate post about this that you can check out either on the blog or on my Instagram page.
It is my hope that this space can grow and flourish into an up building and motivating community for mothers, to share the highs and the lows of motherhood!
So reach out if you want help and support or just want to share your story with another like-minded Mama, or even just say hello! It’s nice to have you here and I would love to hear from you!
Jess x
